Keysel - My First Medicine Music Album, Crowdfund

Hello Everyone! My name is Keysel Pelaez. I’m a Medicine and Folk musician.

But what does that mean!?

It means that I play healing music in the tradition of folk music from all over the world. It sounds a little like this:

Medicine music is a music that helps people heal and reharmonize their inner world through the vibrations transmitted by creative intentionality.

Let me tell you a little about how I got here and why I am approaching you today.

My personal journey through music is one that has taken me through various cultures and several continents. During my studies, I stayed in Mongolia, Papua New Guinea, Germany, and Australia to name a few. This helped me gain a greater perspective of my place in the world and the power of art to bridge gaps between human beings and heal the heart. It was through this journey that I discovered the magic of Medicine music. Having come from the world of folk music myself, the sound of voice and lone guitar had always soothed me deeply, so the transition into the world of medicine felt like a natural movement into greater intentionality.

My first plant ceremony left me in awe as to how far music could take the psyche, especially one open and vulnerable, longing for peace, yearning for healing, with all its brokenness displayed plainly in the face of humbled inner judgments. I had been asked to enter this space, that my service as an artist would be of use there. Now, more than a year later, I look back with gratitude for the marvelous honor it has been to serve the muse of medicine.

With my folk music project indefinitely on hold, I have devoted myself to developing this musical project that is both a personal reflection and an offering to a community that has believed so wholeheartedly in what I do and desires these healing sounds in the great movement to bring our collective world to a higher place.

One of my deepest desires is to create an album that can honor the spirit of this calling and the spirit of healing that has helped me and so many others reach for higher in ourselves. That is why I approach you today, my friends, to help me give back to you and finally get my music to your ears and the ears of the world!

I want to put together a short 6-7 song album of well-produced medicine music that can be enjoyed by you and all those who love music. What excites me most about it is that this music can finally be enjoyed by those who have desired to hear it outside of ceremonies and live concerts, as well as the fact it will help me move forward as an aspiring musician desiring to reach more people with this human message of peace, love, and healing.

Any amount helps and will aid me in paying the extensive fees necessary to use a studio space, mix, pay personnel, and produce a high-fidelity album that will do this healing music justice.
