Hello, family, friends and supporters,
I am reaching out on behalf of my dear aunt, Amy Riggs, who was recently involved in a devastating car accident on September 21st. The accident left her with severe injuries, including a broken wrist, hip, femur, and pelvis, requiring the insertion of multiple rods during surgery. Amy has always been an incredible caregiver, dedicating her life to helping individuals with mental disabilities at Adapt of the Hudson Valley. She treats them as if they were her own family, and her passion for her work is truly inspiring.
Following the accident, Amy has been in the hospital for the past four weeks, and the road to recovery is long and challenging. She is currently relearning how to walk with the assistance of a walker and is taking small steps toward climbing stairs. The doctors have estimated a three-month recovery period for her wrist, but we all know Amy's strength and determination. Despite the challenges, her spirit remains unbroken, and she is fighting hard every day to regain her independence.
I am setting up this GoFundMe campaign to help alleviate the financial stress Amy is facing due to her mounting medical bills and the potential loss of income during her recovery. Amy has always been the kind of person who selflessly gives to others, and now it's our turn to give back to her. Your contributions will go directly towards covering her medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and essential living expenses during this challenging time.
Amy's infectious spirit has touched the lives of so many, and I know that with our support, we can help her focus on what matters most - her recovery. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a significant impact on Amy's journey to healing and getting back on her feet.
Thank you for considering supporting Amy during this difficult time. Your generosity and kindness mean the world to our family.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Kimberly Riggs
