Support Katie's Battle Against Stage 4 Cancer

We are reaching out to share Katie's story. Katie, a 39 year old wife and mother, is facing a challenge that she never anticipated, a battle against stage 4 rectal cancer. Around Thanksgiving of 2023, Katie began to experience some concerning symptoms. Initially, the symptoms were what we thought attributed to fertility treatments as Katie and Vinny were trying for a second child. The fertility treatments were successful and Katie and Vinny got the exciting news February of 2024 of a baby on the way. Unfortunately, during April of 2024, due to complications of pregnancy, they lost the baby. Katie's symptoms had continued to worsen. After multiple doctor visits and misdiagnoses, Katie underwent a colonoscopy on July 1st 2024, which revealed a large rectal mass. Katie and her family have chosen for her care and treatment to begin at the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Care Center. Katie has already endured a series of tests and procedures (multiple CT scans, biopsies, MRI, blood work) and many more to come. These tests have confirmed a 6.6cm mass and the spread to her lymph nodes. Katie's chemotherapy regimen is set to begin July 25th 2024. As Katie and her family navigate this very challenging time, they face not only emotional strain, but also significant financial burden. We are humbly asking for your support.
