A mother's love...
Hello everyone.
It is with sincere pain in our hearts that we reach out to family, friends, and co-workers to help us in a true time of need. In the picture above, you only see four men, but there are many more who are a part of this wonderful pack of friends who have loved each other as brothers for the last 25 years. There are no words to explain the connection between these guys. Every single of one them are hard working men, who thrive to make an amazing life for their families. It was on the job, that one of those men was severely hurt and now finds himself in Tallahassee Memorial Hospital on life support. His name is Roberto Machado & he is standing amongst his brothers, at a wedding, in the plaid shirt. Roberto, known to his loved ones as Beto, is an 18 wheeler truck driver. He spends countless amounts of hours on the road, and then comes home to his house in Orlando Florida, where he takes care of his mother who is living with lupus. He has become the sole provider for his mother, and she counts on him for all of her needs. Beto is known as "the sweetest guy you could ever meet". He makes everyone feel loved, cherished, and can make you laugh at any given moment. Right now, we are sending him telepathic jokes, hoping that somehow we can make him laugh instead.
On Thursday, June 10th 2021, Beto was taking a nap in the back of the trailer, as his co-worker was driving the truck. Beto never woke up from that nap. Instead, he was taken in a helicopter to the hospital, where he suffered seizures, and was pronounced to have an extreme amount of swelling in his brain. The Doctor's drained some of the fluid out of his brain, hoping that it might help him wake up, but it has been 4 days, and still nothing. Beto's birthday was June 2nd, he just turned 42.
The Doctor's have no real information they can provide to the family, because of the swelling. It is a waiting game. Once the swelling has gone down, they can do an MRI and determine other factors that may be able to help him.
Unfortunately, the hospital does not provide a place for his mother, Monse, to stay as she prays for her son's recovery. Monse & Beto live in Orlando, but because of where the accident took place, they are currently in Tallahassee, which is four hours away. Monse, since she is living with lupus, does not have the capability to drive back and forth, nor does she have the funds to continuously stay in hotels. One could not imagine the agony she must be feeling in trying to remain by her son's side, paying for the hotels, & trying to pay her bills back in Orlando. When we reached out to Beto's truck company, they provided a 300 dollar gift card and said "good luck".
This is where you all come in. What we are asking for, pleading for, is for anyone to donate and help Monse stay in Tallahassee. She would be needing a place to stay, food to eat, and help with paying her bills back in Orlando. We know some of you may not have been blessed with the opportunity to meet Beto, but we are hoping you take our word for how much of an amazing man he is. If there is anyone on this planet who deserves to have his mom, his best friend, by his side, it's him. With everything going on in this world, it seems like cruel punishment to have to endure yet another tragedy, & yet here we are.
Could you please help us?!
