Please help my father-n-law after his stroke
Donation protected
My father-n-law, Joe, had a stroke last May. This has turned our family’s lives upside down. He is a grandfather to six children and they miss having our Poppy to play. My mother-n-law, Tracy, has been his full time caretaker, which also means that she cannot work right now. She has taken him to therapy in several different places. She even brought him to Pennsylvania to seek more therapy. Now, he’s currently in therapy twice a week and is wheelchair bound with zero movement in his arm. We are trying not to lose hope for improvement, however, his new Neurologist said that he may have reached his full potential at the point in time we’re at now. He said we could try the shots, Etanercept, which are used for the treatment of a stroke, however they would not be covered by his insurance. They are injected into the spine once a week for two weeks. There have been eye-witness reports of a single dose of perispinal Etanercept producing improvement in expressive aphasia, speech apraxia, cognitive function, and left hemiparesis. In a non-randomized study of 617 patients, more than 80% of participants saw a reduction in spasticity and more than 85% saw improved movement. The cost is $500 for a phone consultation, $10,000 per shot, and it will require a two week stay in Florida. We want our Poppy back and would greatly appreciate any donations towards his final attempt at recovery. Thank you so much for your help.
