A Teacher's Wish

Pierrette Paramore Partridge is the most positive, loving, selfless person you could ever meet. We are creating this page to give back to her, and her family, in a time of deep need because we know it's hard for her to ask for help on her own..and frankly she shouldn't have to.
Pierrette has spent her entire adulthood seeking higher education so that she could serve her community through educating our youth. Most recently her title was Special Education Program Coordinator for Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment, for the North East Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas. She has worked extremely hard and put herself through a lot of schooling in order to rise to this position and dedicate herself to helping kids with special needs. All while raising two amazing children, Lorien (19), Clayton (14) and being a loving partner and wife to her husband, Nathan.

It was while at work, in August 2019, that out of the blue she collapsed and was rushed to the hospital. There she found out that she was in need of emergency brain surgery to remove a large (kiwi sized) tumor.

A few days after surgery we all found out that Pierrette had been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain cancer, Glioblastoma, grade 4 (the fastest growing form of brain cancer).
This devastating diagnosis comes with a short life expectancy. Only 50% of those diagnosed with Glioblastoma survive the first year, 20% surviving the 2nd year and only 1% survive through year 4.

This cancer is relentless and just before starting radiation and chemo treatment, Pierrette's scans showed a new tumor has already begun growing towards the back of her brain. Only one month post operation on the first! (pictured above)
Through all of this incredibly shocking and life changing news, Pierrette has been continuing to shine her light on everyone around her. She is proving she has a teacher’s heart by showing us all how to be strong, trust in God, and move forward in hard times when maybe we don't feel capable. Posting inspiring messages and silly selfies on her Facebook to show that she is taking on the chemo and radiation like a boss!
If you would like to follow along with her journey, she has created a Facebook page where she will share her thoughts and life lessons learned: Courage to Become

There has only been 1 time when she has asked for anything from us. Her request was that we all pray for her to live 4 years.
Here are the reasons why she wishes to make it into the 1% of survivors:
1. She wishes to watch her son, Clayton, graduate from high school and help him develop the skills and talents needed to prepare him for life.
2. She wishes to watch her daughter, Lorien, graduate from college and help her get a full time Vet Tech position.
3. She wishes to live long enough to help her husband be free of their student loan debt before she leaves us.
HER 3rd WISH IS WHY WE STARTED THIS GO FUND ME PAGE.
As I said before, Pierrette has dedicated her education and career to helping those who need it most. She had to take out student loans to make that dream happen and impact so many kids lives for the better. Throughout her years as an educator she has spent a lot of her own money on her students, classrooms, and programs (as so many teachers do) to make them even better. Unfortunately with an educator's salary, she has not been able to pay off the loans and since the time she attended school, the interest has doubled the principal amount! Federal relief programs over the years have rejected her attempts to join.
It will be even harder for her to pay down the debt now that she is unable to continue her professional work, and Pierrette will not be able to officially retire from education as she had hoped to do.
Now it’s time to do our part to help her make at least this one wish come true.
Please join us by thanking Pierrette for her lifetime of work with our kids. Help her rest a little easier knowing that this 3rd wish is being taken care of for her. Student loan debt should not be something that we have to think about in times like this and it should not be on Pierrette’s mind while she fights against this disease. The medical expenses alone will be a lot to handle, and any help that you can give will be so very much appreciated.
If you can’t give financially, that is alright!
We ask that you all help us pray for her to be the rare 1% and live at least the 4 years she desires for her family.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
