Khahil Family Pay For Medical Bills

My super sweet Daughter In Law Megan Khahil (my son Ku Khahil’s wife) underwent a craniotomy today to remove a cavernoma from her left frontal lobe. She is out of surgery and the doctors said all went very well. She will be in the hospital for a few days but has a long recovery time ahead. My son is an independent contractor and therefore doesn’t qualify for FMLA or any leave of any sort and they will both be off of work for some time as he cares for her during her recovery. These two haven’t even been able to celebrate their one-year wedding anniversary before facing this unexpected challenge that crept up on them rather quickly. They would absolutely never ask for handouts- both of them work extremely hard to provide for themselves, but that doesn’t mean their family can’t do it for them. For those on the east side, you may recognize Megan from her many years working at Wally’s Frozen Custard where she worked all throughout high school and college working her way up to manager before she left to pursue a career in interior design. If you ever frequented Wally’s over the past 10 years there’s no doubt you saw her bright smiling face. My son is the host of the Locked On podcast covering all things Detroit Pistons and has done so well with it ever since taking over, he also delivers pizzas in his spare time to bring additional $ into the household. They are so young and just starting out and this is such a difficult setback for them. I’m just down the street from them, so I plan on providing many meals over the summer, but if any friends and family would like to support them I know it would bless them greatly. They have a long road of medical debt ahead of them after this. She already owes over $1800 in medical bills, and that’s before her surgery and the days stayed in the hospital. Not to mention, rent, utilities, food and gas for the month that Ku will be out of work. Megan should be able to return to work on August 1st but that’s best case scenario. If you’re unable to contribute financially we will happily accept all the prayers and positive thoughts for them.
