Khalea Thoeuk

It is with deep sorrow that we must announce the passing of Khalea Thoeuk (18), the daughter of Whidbey Island’s Rachel Ivy and Nick Thoeuk. She is survived by her parents, younger sister Wynn Thoeuk (14), and brother Khellen Thoeuk (6). Khalea was an honor roll student and senior at Snohomish High School. She was planning on attending Western Washington University in the Fall. Khalea was loved by all who knew her. She was kind, adventurous, and empathetic. A lover of animals and an intuitive caregiver to her younger siblings, she was wise beyond her years. Khalea deeply loved her family and her friends. She was thoughtful and compassionate, a talented writer, and an avid reader.
Khalea took pride in her Cambodian heritage and was able to travel with her family to Cambodia and experience the culture. Khalea spent her 18th birthday in Paris, France with her mother and Aunt Chanthy Thoeuk. We are grateful that she was able to have so many beautiful experiences in her life albeit cut short.
There is no way to prepare yourself for the loss of a child- for a parent to bury their child.
Individuals close to the family have created this as a means to assist the family with funeral related costs and living expenses while they grieve. Any additional funds will be used to memorialize Khalea.
The outpouring of support has been overwhelming and is a testament to how beloved Khalea was to all who knew her.
