Khaleesi’s Cancer Surgery

Hello, my name is Amanda Van Saders, and I am starting this go fund me to provide financial relief to my best friend, Jordan Savoy. Jordan has been my best friend for eight years and if you know anything about my best friend, it's that her fur-babies are her entire life. There is nothing in this world that is more important than Maverick and Khaleesi. We were on a FaceTime call a few months back and Jordan was showing me Khaleesi's eye and how swollen it had gotten. She'd thought it was just allergies as it was that time of year when the desert was in bloom. After months of endless vet visits with misdiagnoses, testing, and biopsies, her first-born fur baby was diagnosed with an aggressive cancerous sarcoma that spans from the back of her mouth, up behind her eye, and on her cheekbone.
Jordan has consulted multiple oncologists and surgeons in hopes that there was a way to save Khaleesi’s life. The oncologist had told her that the sarcoma was so large that it would likely be inoperable and Khaleesi would only have a few months to live. Khaleesi is only eight years old, at half of her life. This was absolutely devastating news to Jordan and her partner, Adrian. Khaleesi and Maverick are their whole world. The oncologist consulted multiple surgeons in Tucson, Phoenix, and Colorado. A few weeks later, they’d heard from one surgeon in Phoenix who’d said they could do the operation, but it would be $15,000 and given the aggressive nature of the tumor, they were unsure if they would be able to get clear margins and follow on treatment would be required. Jordan and Adrian made the heartbreaking decision to start pain management radiation to make Khaleesi’s last few months more comfortable. When the new Radiation Oncologist came on board, she felt like the tumor was misdiagnosed and was actually non-aggressive, making surgery a much more appealing option. She consulted with surgeons at Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, CO (950 miles away from home) that was willing to perform the life-saving surgery for a much more reasonable cost. After much debate about travel costs and medical bills, they decided that this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to save their pup was worth it. As many of you know, these surgeries are extremely expensive and Jordan has already spent well over $8,000 in diagnosing Khaleesi alone. It absolutely breaks my heart knowing that they will have to go into debt to save their dog. The surgery will cost approximately $6,000 and due to the surgeon being out of state, Jordan will need to stay close by while Khaleesi recovers.
The money raised in this go-fund-me will go toward Khaleesi’s surgery and Jordan’s 17-day stay. Any help you're able to offer would mean the world to me and my best friend. Help me save an important member of my best friend’s family!❤️
