Khana Flood Relief Fundraiser for Pakistan
Donation protected
Flooding caused by torrential monsoon rains has claimed more than 1500 lives in Pakistan since June, while millions have been left stranded and desperate for immediate relief. As a Pakistani woman-owned business and first-generation daughter of Pakistani immigrants, it is less of due diligence and more of a matter of preserving the livelihood of family and community members by providing support in any way I can, regardless of the distance. These floods are a humanitarian crisis that hit much too close to home.
We will be donating all profits from food sales during our pop-up/fundraiser on Tuesday, 9.13.21, to be split between two organizations, UNICEF and DASTAK, working to provide relief for flood victims in their unique efforts. Donations can also be made directly to this account and will be sent to the organizations.
You can read more about both organizations below:
UNICEF is responding with the Government and partners, helping to deliver safe drinking water, lifesaving medical supplies, therapeutic food supplies, and hygiene kits to children and families. They are also establishing temporary learning centers and supporting the protection and psychosocial well-being of children affected by these devastating floods.
DASTAK is an organization aimed at increasing the outreach of information on gender-based violence protection services & resources. They have partnered with HIVE Pakistan, a social-impact organization working to address issues of extremism & marginalization, to provide "dignity kits" for flood victims that include feminine hygiene products that the government has not been supplying or prioritizing.
