I, Brandi Ledbetter, a close friend of Jason and Amanda Sexton, am starting this go fund me on their behalf. They unfortunately found themselves facing one of the hardest and scariest times a family can go through in life.

Jason, a full time Union sheet metal worker local #1, developed a cough in August and saw several doctors over the months following in which they kept diagnosing him with common viruses and different conditions. That was until January when a doctor ordered a bronchoscopy and found the cause of his cough was in fact cancer of the lungs.

Since January, when he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, things have progressed quickly and for the worse, spreading to other areas of his body. Jason had been having chemotherapy treatments and still had been working through sickness that comes along with chemo. He just completed his first round and they found out it did not work. He is now about to begin a stronger course of chemotherapy mid April. He was instructed by his doctor he needed to stop working immediately for the sake of his health. With that he will lose his income and eventually their health insurance. They have since found out recently that disability has a waiting period of 5 months and won’t payout until October, 2024. Amanda still has the Barbership in tremont open, sometimes having to close for appointments & emergencies and such for Jason.

Needless to say, they have a mountain of worries at this moment along with the growing worries and stress from the medical bills piling up quickly on top of their normal monthly bills and everyday living expenses.

It’s so hard to see others go through such horrible times such as Jason and Amanda are right now. Fortunately, we can help them by easing their financial worries at the very least. I know they would greatly appreciate any amount given. Any help at all would help ease their financial burdens and allow them to focus on Jason’s health as they fight through this horrible illness together.
