Kherson to Minnesota: Help A Ukrainian Family

Because of Russia's war of aggression in Ukraine, over 9 million Ukrainians have been displaced from their homes. Sean and I are sponsoring a young Ukrainian family to start their lives fresh in Minnesota. But we need your help, too! Will you join us in creating a warm welcome for them?

They are from Kherson, which was invaded and under Russian occupation for nearly six months. This family lived under Russian occupation, sheltering in a basement. Their apartment was destroyed, they have lost everything they had, and they were lucky to escape with their lives. Their son is the same age as our son Auden- he has started the fourth grade here!

They arrived August 28th with just two suitcases! The GoFundMe financial support has already helped them get here, with about $2,000 in travel expenses. Now, we need to get them settled in their first months here, with things like first and last month's rent, utilities, local transportation, and funds to use on living expenses while they looking for work. They are eager to work, but it will take a bit of time to acclimate to a new country. Their first priority will be to begin English classes. We hope to give them an adequate financial cushion to ensure a smooth new start. Every little bit helps, and even a small contribution and a "share" to your network will help us get there!

With our collective knowledge and passion, we are confident in our ability to provide the support required for a family and then some, but we need your help. 100% of the funds raised toward the goal will go to the family. Any funds beyond our goal will help support the same for another Ukrainian family! All Ukrainians have been through so much already. But, we can make their arrival and transition to Minnesota smooth and reassuring. Even a small donation will help us achieve the goal!
