Khmer Elder's Living Expenses

Donation protected
Earlier this year, a Khmer elder who was a long-time resident at the Kent Wat (Cambodian Buddhist Monks Association - 25331 68th Ave S, Kent, WA 98032) was forced to leave temple grounds. Khmer Community of Seattle King County (KCSKC) was called in by his school, Green River College - Kent Campus, to assist with locating emergency shelter and language support for this elder. KCSKC was unsuccessful in locating a suitable emergency shelter and have been temporarily housing this Khmer elder, as well as providing consistent Khmer food. It has come time for an alternative solution and we are seeking community support for this elders' living expenses and food expenses in the next week until a more permanent solution is found.

He will be staying at a motel located close to the Kent temple as well as Green River - Kent Campus. We are seeking community support to pay for 1 week of his stay ($760) and 1 week of culturally-appropriate food to be delivered ($350). We are also seeking community members to help with preparing Khmer food and delivering to the elder for the next week. Please donate any funds that you are able, any time that you are able to cook and/or deliver Khmer food.

Please share this widely so we can collectively support this elder. If you have connections for a permanent living situation for this elder, please contact KCSKC.
