Eyak's Castle

Donation protected
The Eyak called  for assistance at about 5:45 a.m. on January 19th after the 80-foot vessel ran aground, then began to take on water about 16 miles south of Sitka.

None of the four people aboard the damaged vessel -- including the captain, 48-year-old Sitka resident David Castle, were injured during the incident.

The vessel flipped and sank shortly after and only a small portion remained above water.

The Eyak was David's home, lively hood, and the love of his life.  Together Davey and the Eyak have serviced the community of Port Alexander and Port Armstrong and other communities around Baranof Island.   We need to help Davey get back into service to get food, fuel and mail and all the other wonderful things he does for all of our friends and fisherman.

Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
