Khumbu, Nepal - Everest Judo Club

Donation protected

Hanabi Judo hosted Olympian and philanthropist Sabrina Filzmoser on our "Judo Stars" interview series last Friday 5/8. Sabrina is a champion of the Everest Judo club and works with the support of the Nepal Judo Federation to provide resources for training to the community.

Everest Judo Club is the first and only professional judo club in the entire Himalayan Range of Nepal and promotes health and discipline for its students. Olympians travel to the Himalayan Range to train in the altitude and rugged terrain, this wealth of human knowledge is now being shared with the children of the area.

Due to the rapid rise of Covid-19 isolated regions are facing more hardships than ever. With the decline of global tourism, many locals will not be able to earn an income.  Sabrina Filzmoser explains how the Everest Judo Club is a necessity that contributes to the economy and to the preservation of Nepalese culture in this International Judo Federation article.

Please consider supporting Everest Judo Club and their members during this time of hardship. This money will be given directly to Kazi Sherpa at Everest Judo Club for necessities. Thank you and Tashi delek.
