Kia Shaw’s final journey
Donation protected
First of all we would like to say thank you to Chloe for starting this go-fund me.
As most of you will know our family isn't one for asking for things, so it all felt a little strange, as it is us who usually helps others.
We as a family cannot thank the generosity of all you lovely people enough, the money you had already raised meant we could do things as a family and not have to worry about whether we could afford to do it.
The memories you gave to us, I (we) will be forever thankful for, you all helped create THE most magical last Christmas for us all.
The joy you all brought to not only us but to Kia and all her friends was immeasurable and we appreciate everything you all did!
Sadly as most of you already know our beautiful girl gained her angel wings on Thursday 9th January after THE most courageous battle her heart of gold stopped beating, and ours somehow has to carry on mine feels like it's shattered into a million pieces, it hurts SO much but I know now my girl is right beside me, picking all my pieces up asking me to be strong just like she was in everything she was faced with in her short life.
Kia never asked for much in life, she was the girl who thought about others and put everyone before herself, she was so selfless and kind, with the purest of hearts.
We would really love to be able to give Kia the best send off she deserves, and for everyone who knew her to be able to come together for one last time to celebrate her life, in the best way possible.
I still can't believe this is real, I want nothing more than for her to walk through the door.
People keep asking us if there is anything they can do and all we can think of is to once again ask for your kindness in helping us achieve this. No matter how big or small or even a share would be greatly appreciated.
Anything that is not used towards the expenses of her final journey will be made into a charity fund in Kia's name, as Kia wanted to change a lot in the adult section of the hospital at Manchester, once again thinking of others whilst going through her own treatment. So we as a family will do that in memory of her.... stronger than the storm….the rest is still unwritten….
