Kick Callums Cancer

Hi, I'm Gav, I'm a grassroots football coach and I'm helping to raise funds for a very special young man and his family whilst he receives treatment for his recently diagnosed Cancer. Backed by a small army of Heath Rangers U15's footballers, we aim to help Callum's family to be able to concentrate on getting him well soon without worrying about the financial implications this will have on his parents Andy and Stacey and Callum's 2 younger brothers Jordan and Jamie.

Callum has been diagnosed with T Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma, an aggressive form of Cancer. Callum and his family's lives have been turned upside down in a matter of weeks following his feeling unwell and developing lumps on his body and lymph nodes. Since then he has undergone various invasive testing such as blood tests, biopsies, lumber punctures and bonemarrow aspiration to name but a few. Due to the severity of his Cancer, doctors are wasting no time and he starts his chemotherapy tonight. His treatment is likely to last 3.5 years

3 weeks ago, Callum was in the heart of our midfield, a tricky player, silky on the ball, stronger than you'd expect in a tackle for such a slight young man! An exceptional footballer in every department, a privilege to train and coach but a joy to watch on match day. He has everything and we can't wait to see him pull on his shirt again following his treatment. On match day his teammates relied on him to add a spark to help us beat our opposition. Today, he can rely on his teammates to help him beat his new opposition.

Ultimately, the financial implications for the family will be severe. We want to do everything in our power to help them, the lads have some amazing fundraising ideas already, from new haircuts, charity football matches, tackling Snowden amongst many other things! The funds raised will go directly to help the family financially.
