Kicking Ewing Sarcoma With Krista

Our dear friend Krista is a beautiful wife and mom of 2, and super supportive friend. To our shock and dismay, she was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma in the spring of 2019. The cancer was found in her sternum, a rare place for Ewing Sarcoma to take up residence.

Her treatment plan alternates 12 hours of chemo, then following three weeks another 5 days of chemo, and goes on in this fashion for 15 weeks. After 15 weeks, she will have a surgery that will require a 12 week recovery. Then more chemotherapy until 17 cycles are reached or until her body can’t take it anymore. This will change, of course, if the cancer has metastasized.

So far, she has been through three rounds of chemo and is coming up on her fourth, which is a 5 day treatment. We are all amazed by her consistently positive attitude.

We are doing all we can for her, but as you know, cancer is relentless and expensive, and there are just some things we can't always help with. Any donations will be helpful to get her and her family through what promises to be a rough year and a half! After each chemo cycle her immune system is depleted, so she will need regular housecleaning assistance. While she is recovering from chemo cycles, she will need camp or childcare for her two beauties. Then there’s insurance deductibles, medical bills already owed, and loss of income as she will not be able to work her regular job during this recovery. Not to mention unforeseen expenses that will likely arise.
