help kickstart the farm
Donation protected
hello,
my name is brennen and this year i am starting a farm called feast & fibre farm. my goal is to supply restaurants and community centres with local vegetables, and produce flax for fibre.
by growing restaraunt quality produce, i then aim to partner with community centres or community organizations to supply their kitchen programs with local, regeneratively grown produce, ensuring community members often priced out of farmers markets and restaurants have access to the foods we grow locally.
food isn't the only thing we need to bring back to the local sphere, and so i've decided to trial 1/8 acre plot of flax for fibre. In the fall, i hope to offer flax processing workshops as well as processed linen fibre for sale.
thanks to the initial $1000 of donations, my seed order for the 2023 growing season has been placed!
now i need to be able to secure a lease on a 1/2 incubator plot at KPU Tsawwassen First Nation Farm School. this will cost approximately $3,000 for the year.
with over a decade in customer service i have no savings, so am looking to my community to provide this initial upfront investment, which will also help me leverage a microloan through Vancity Credit Unions Small Growers Fund.
thank you for your support!
