Kidney Cancer Patient About To Be Homeless

Donation protected
I had my Kidney removed due to Renal Cell Carcinoma. The tumor was quite big and took over my kidney (see below...WARNING GRAPHIC) and the surgery, while saving my life, caused permanent damage that has left me unable to work. I was finally able to get approval and had my latest surgery to, hopefully, remove all the nerves in the left groin area that were permanently in pain on Friday, June 21st.

I have been on unpaid leave since July 3rd, 2018. I received spotty Short-term disability pmts that I had to fight tooth-and-nail to get in the last few months of 2018. But I was denied Long-term disability pmts due to pre-existing conditions. This means I’ve had zero income at all for 2019.

I have applied for Soc Sec Disability as well as for assistance from DSHS but am stuck in so much red tape I have no idea how much, if any, help I can get from those channels. In the meantime, I have exhausted my savings, 401k and all other financial  resources trying to live and fight with my insurance companies and hospital finance depts to get the procedures to fix the damage caused by my 1st surgery & it will take weeks more to recover from my latest surgery & know if it was successful.

I won’t be able to make my August rent. Any help to keep my home of 8 yrs would be greatly appreciated. I also need my car to get to appointments. Please help me keep my only source of transportation from imminent repossession.

I’ve asked for $5000. $3000 for a couple months rent, $2000 to catch up my car, my insurance, medical bills and prescription meds.

I have applied to Hopelink. Salvation Army, Catholic Community Services & St. Vincent DePaul. To these agencies I was directed by King Co 211. Most of these require an eviction notice to be able to help and then due to our areas homeless crises they have backlogs of people needing help.

I apologize if going to the extent of creating this site to ask for help from people appears tacky or if someone thinks I should have done this a different way. But if you know me, you know I find asking for help very difficult and if this is all too much information, I just wanted folks to know that I’ve exhausted every avenue & done my best to be as careful with my money as possible while living through almost constant chronic pain and also, that my need is very real. Please consider donating but no more than you can spare. I don’t know when or if I’ll be able to pay you back.

As of June 30, 2019, this is all the money I have.

WARNING GRAPHIC- just showing that the monster of a cancerous tumor and why I had so much damage done to remove it.
