Hello, everyone. My name is Nicole Ansell and I have Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). This is a genetic disorder that has made an impact on my entire life. During a recent checkup we discovered it has progressed further and faster than we anticipated. At this time, I have lost 90% of kidney function. My doctor has said that in 6 months or less I would need to go on dialysis. The best chance for living my life to its fullest is a living donor transplant.
Luckily, thanks to good friends on the Internet and through fandom, there have been many potential live donors for transplant surgery. This campaign is to cover all medical expenses, as well as the cost of travel for the donor who matches me, and accomodation so they can recuperate. After all bills are paid, excess will go towards to the charity Random Acts and GISHWHES, its annual scavenger hunt's, and Gishscholarships to help others join in the charitible fun.
