Jennifer Rempel Kidney Transplant

Our names are Sheryl & Lloyd Plett and we have started this GoFundMe page for Sheryl’s sister, Jennifer Rempel. In recent years, Jennifer and Sheryl have both been diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). There are five stages in PKD and Jennifer is now in Stage 5, which means she will eventually need a transplant. If Jennifer's kidney function continues to deteriorate at the current pace, dialysis would need to begin in 6 months. In addition to these serious health challenges, Jen has a hole in her heart that will need to be repaired prior to any surgeries. All of these procedures are daunting and take an emotional, as well as physical, toll on her and her family. The time, energy, and cost of attending these appointments is draining, especially on an already compromised immune system.

Jennifer and her husband Camden have lived in Steinbach for the last 19 years. They have both experienced significant health challenges that have not allowed full time employment. Jennifer is currently working part time at Steinbach Landfill but she tires easily. She and Cam have already downsized their living accommodations in an attempt to minimize expenses but with dialysis and multiple surgeries in her future, it isn’t enough. We are hoping to raise much needed funds to assist with ongoing and future expenses like transportation costs for medical appointments, parking, and lost wages.
