Donald Malone's kidney transplant treatment

My note to you
Thank you so much for your consideration in donating to this campaign. Donald is my father and has been my day one supporter in life, alongside many others. Your support means alot!!
Donald's story
Thanking God for all blessings! On Friday, 8/16/2019, UCLA hospital called my father to come in. A donor kidney had become available. We were ecstatic! With nearly 10 years of waiting and receiving dialysis to manually clean his blood; at last, it was his turn. The surgery was successful.
Where the funds are going
With every blessing comes new challenges. My dad was prescribed a total of 14 medications, 13 of the 14 are covered by insurance. But the one not covered is named Valcyte/Valganciclovir, an antiviral medicine that helps his body fight off viruses as it welcomes the new kidney. This amazing yet very costly drug runs $1,300 per dose/pill. Thankfully he does not have to take this medicine everyday; his physician has only prescribed Valcyte for 6 months, at currently only 3 doses per week.
UCLA has been amazing in assisting us with finding additional resources to secure enough supply for 2 months. However, despite this factor, we are still short by 4 months of drug supply. Our goal is to raise enough funds to carry us out the remaining months. Your help is needed immediately.
Once again, we greatly appreciate the time spent reading about this campaign and your consideration. It doesn't matter how big or small the donation is, every amount helps!
