K.I.D.S. Community Connection Program

We are a group of third-year BSW (bachelor of social work) students. For our community class, we have been challenged to create a community project that benefits our community and meets the needs of a specific group of people. Our project is called K.I.D.S. Community Connections. K.I.D.S. stands for kindness, inclusion, diversity, and support: these are the values we wish to promote in Lethbridge. We have decided to create packages full of gift cards and vouchers for food, transportation, recreational activities and more that will then be distributed through chosen organizations and schools to children from low-income families. We have identified basic needs (clothing, food, haircuts) and leisure activities (pools, gyms, recreation centers) that many families in our city are unable to afford and we want to help meet these needs.

The donations we receive will be used to purchase gift cards to grocery stores, clothing stores, etc and passes to public transit, recreational activity centers, and hair salons. This project will run for 6 weeks starting February 14, 2020. Every donations, big or small, makes a difference in the lives of kids who need it most. 100% of your donations go into purchasing gift cards and passes.

We are 5 passionate women who love our community and want to see families thrive! We would love to see our community come together and help to empower K.I.D.S. in need.
