Kids Cruising on the Chesapeake

Hi, my name is Capt. TJ Sanner and I am the owner of Cruise the Chesapeake (CTC) and the captain of the Samantha Belle. We have a passion to get as many people out on the Chesapeake Bay and experience the wonderful natural resource in our very own backyard. Capt. Luke McFadden of the FV Southern Girl & Bodkin Point Seafood shares that passion so much that we've partnered up to combine forces to hopefully inspire the next generation of watermen on the Bay. Our goal for this fundraiser is to focus on two things... 1. Exposing school-aged children to boats and the Chesapeake Bay 2. Teach the kids about the industry of watermen on the bay The problems we are running into and need help with... 1. Cost of transporting the kids via bus is $400 for the day 2. The operational costs of starting the school cruises (ie. life jackets, course material) CTC already has several cruises booked for several local elementary schools in the area and we are absorbing those costs but would love to expand the program to other county schools and kids programs. We are looking at $400 per bus and each elementary school class will need 2-3 buses per trip. We will set sail out of Arnold, MD and show them the Magothy River and the Chesapeake Bay. We will also be pulling as close as we can get to some local watermen and watching them crab, and maybe even get to tag some crabs.
