Kid's Nurture Swipe Out Hunger Program
Donation protected
Hello,
Thank you for stopping by to read our story at Kid's Nurture Initiative (KNI). We need your support to feed children in low-income community schools in Nigeria. Our leader, Oluwaseun Kolawole, had an encounter with schoolchildren who were malnourished due to poverty during her compulsory one-year national volunteer service upon graduation from college. This condition led to the death of one of the most promising among them.
She thereafter picked up a job as a teacher with Teach for Nigeria in a low-income community school, where she realized that the problem of malnutrition is also endemic in the community. One student, who frequently skips class and is typically irate, inattentive, and restless, caught her attention at one point. Upon probing, she discovered that she had not eaten for more than 24 hours and that she often missed school because her parents could not afford to feed her and her siblings. Similarly, Segun, another promising and energetic student who is a three-year-old boy with obvious signs of malnutrition, often weakly walks up to her to request food or money to buy food. These scenarios and many others have informed our vision at Kids' Nurture Initiative, and we believe that one day every Nigerian child will have the opportunity to obtain an excellent education with PROPER NUTRITION.
Our mission at KNI is to help kids win the war against hunger and malnutrition in underserved schools in low-income communities in Nigeria. Your kind donations will be used to launch our feeding program at three other low-income community schools.
Please find attached the budget for the program below!
