Thankful Thursdays

My brother is a volunteer EMT in the Southampton Village Ambulance. He and many community members like him, have volunteered not just to help people during the Corona Virus pandemic but everyday for years. They do this out of a personal desire to help others and pride to help their community.

While talking to him yesterday he shared that in Southampton Hospital there is an EMS room where they go to clean up, have a snack and reprieve for a moment before going back out to the community to help again. 
I would like to raise money to stock the room with food, snacks and "Thank you" notes from the community for their service. Again, they are on the front lines and volunteer.

I would like to take it a step further and start "Thankful Thursdays" and each week raise money with help from the community to show our Medical Service Providers and staff that we are thankful for all that they do. Yes, some of the doctors, nurses and staff at Southampton Hospital get paid but they took a job to help people not knowing that each day they will put themselves and their family in jeopardy to take care of us!

Southampton Hospital is the only hospital on the south fork. It services all of us from Hampton Bays to Montauk, day and night, Corona, heart attacks and accidents. 

Please donate with me to these individuals to let them know we are "Thankful" for their service and kindness. Each week we will "treat" a certain department or group to breakfast and dinner depending on their shift on "Thankful Thursday".  
My goal is to raise $1000 per week to feed as many medical staff as possible!

Please donate $5 or $10  and if money is challenging please donate a Thank You note. I will collect all of the notes and send weekly. 

Week 1-Volunteer Ambulance (EMS ROOM) -This will benefit all  Ambulance people that bring patients to Southampton Hospital. (From Hampton Bays-Montauk)

Week 2-ER Staff (morning/ evening staff)

Week 3-ICU Staff (morning/ evening Shift)

Week 4- TBD (Suggestions welcomed)

****To continue with the theme of helping the community, I will use local restaurants, bagel stores and deli's to cater each week to help them during this time as well!!!

I ask everyone to do 2 things:
1. Donate a few dollars and/or a Thank You note (email me directly)
2. Please forward this letter to everyone in your community to get the word out of "Thankful Thursday!"

I will updated this page weekly with the results,  restaurants used, and "Thankful Notes".
