Kieran's Ohio All Star Wrestling Journey

My name is Kieran Mullin and I am 13 years old and a 7th grader at Olmsted Falls Middle School. I was selected along with 21 others to represent the state of Ohio this summer as a member of the Ohio All Star Wrestling Team. This team will be traveling to and competing against all-star teams from California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, and even Vancouver, Canada, over a 7-week period!

This team was formed in 1983 and this is the 42nd and final year this team will compete. Not only will this trip focus on wrestling, but it will also be a 57-day cultural exchange trip where we get to work on a dude ranch, go whitewater rafting, see the play Newsies at Tuacahn outdoor stadium, go to a rodeo, see a magic show, Mystere Cirque Du Soleil, and Tournament of Kings show in Las Vegas, along with a lot of other cool things. We will be visiting Knott’s Berry Farm, U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Olympic Training Center, the Mormon Center, Space Needle, Pike Place Market, The Rose Bowl, and many other places I can’t wait to visit.

I think this experience will not only help me become a better wrestler, but will also teach me a lot of important lessons off the mat. I will have to work together with my new teammates and learn how to stay alive without my parents there for me.

In order to make this trip a reality, each wrestler must raise their own money to fund it. I am working jobs around the neighborhood and using money I have saved up to help make this trip happen. I would be very thankful for any consideration in helping me with raising some money. Thank you!
