Kierra’s Comeback

On January 7, 2020 Kierra Sorrels-Kelley's life was forever changed. What began as a typical day in the life of a college student, ended in a sudden crisis.

On this day, Kierra was left paralyzed from the chest down. What started off as a headache quickly turned into a long road to recovery. Not only for her, but for her parents and siblings as well.

Imagine being home from college to celebrate the holidays, after months away from your family and friends. After working hard and long to achieve the honor of being on The Deans List, your life literally coming to a sudden halt.

Early that Tuesday morning Kierra’s mother (Alicia Allen) awakened her other 3 children to prepare them for school. After dropping the other girls off Kierra’s mother headed to her fathers home to help care for him.

Around 8:30am Kierra called her mother to inform her of an intense headache. She had also lost feeling from the chest down. Upon arrival, her mother found her sitting on the floor helpless. With the paramedics in route, all they could do was pray.

In a state of confusion and panic Kierra expressed that she couldn’t breathe. With her mother by her side, she was able to keep her calm as she was carried away by the EMT’s.

Initially, Kierra was tested over and over again with no answers.  Kierra’s doctors finally determined that she had experienced a spinal stroke. The doctors have yet to determine the cause.

Kierra and her family are in dire need of our help. They would not only like to solicit your prayers, but to also solicit any monetary gifts. No amount is too small. This is only the beginning of her story.

Although Kierra’s parents (Alicia Allen, Ricky & April Kelley) are doing their absolute best, the expenses are piling up. Not only medical expenses, but their everyday expenses as well.

Imagine having insurance on your child and it still not being enough. This is their plight.

So please consider not only praying, but also sowing a seed to help this family. Be a part of “Kierra’s Comeback!”
