Ngayi, we are the Kiilalaana Foundation who is in need for investment and urgent funding to keep our space, our bus and to continue providing services to First Nations youth and women.
Kiilalaana Foundation was born in 2020 out of a vision to empower Aboriginal girls and young women to become the warriors that they are destined to be, inspiring and growing them to instil courage in their hearts to leave trauma and hurt behind, to stand strong in the truth of their future. To be self-determined in their journey towards their own sovereignty and to write their own story in their Dreaming and vision. Grounded in culture and guided by their Ancestors.
From this beginning we have grown to x9 programs, a Dance group, hosting Gatherings with mob such as Barkaa, Walk-About Barber, attending event like Mutawinji Corroboree , Swinburne Naarm Leadership Gathering and more. Walking with more than 125 young Tiddas ages 7-28 from 2020 to now, 21 young Brothers from July to now, and 10 women in our community.
Kiilalaana means growing — Kiilalaana Foundation is committed to supporting the growth, wellbeing, cultural connection, strengthening identity, empowerment, enabling and education of First Nation youth and women connection, while strengthening their identity First Nations mob and community. We seek to provide a platform for the next generation of tiidas (sisters)and brothers to become self-determinate and can proudly stand in their own sovereignty, with their roots firmly entrenched in culture.
