Kiley Fisher and family
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lisa Seaman. I’ve set up this GoFundMe page for Kiley Fisher and her family. They are in need of financial support as they navigate some difficult days ahead. This support is needed to cover medical costs. Over the past few years, Kiley has experienced some of the highest of highs and lowest of lows. Through it all, she has shown such grace, beauty, faith, and love. She has also shown a vulnerability that draws others into caring about who she loves, and what she loves. Her most recent high was the birth of Casey, nicknamed Bear, just 2 short months ago! A sweet addition to her and Travis’ blended family. Unfortunately, just 6 days after giving birth to Bear, Kiley had an MRI of her head. Just 3 hours after that, she was told, “I don’t have great news about your scan. They found a mass.” This mass is a skull based tumor called an acoustic neuroma. Showing grace, faith and vulnerability again, Kiley has shared this with friends and family. Her social media post has been copied and pasted at the bottom.
Please consider donating to this GoFundMe page to cover medical expenses that will be incurred, as well as to give the family a fresh financial start by covering the yet unpaid portions of Bear’s birth. The road ahead is uncertain regarding how long Kiley will be out of work. We really want her to just be able to focus on her health and enjoying her beautiful family. There will also be additional information coming re: providing meals around the date of her surgery which is scheduled for 1/11/2022.

“Unfortunately, I don’t have great news about your scan. They found a mass.”
I started having some weird facial numbness and discomfort mid-September but was hoping it was just another weird pregnancy symptom. Sadly, after Bear arrived, it only got worse.
I went for an MRI 6 days after giving birth. 3 hours after the scan, my doctor called to tell me I have a large skull-based tumor known as an acoustic neuroma. They needed me to see a neurosurgeon as soon as possible.
Fast forward a bit — I now have surgery scheduled in a few weeks at Johns Hopkins. I will lose all hearing in my right ear. I may also end up with some facial paralysis and other side effects. (can’t forget the partially shaved head and crazy scar )
My symptoms have progressed and I’m quite uncomfortable. The facial / mouth numbness and tingling continues. My ear rings and buzzes constantly and any noise echoes; it’s like I have a baby monitor in my ear. I’ve moved ear plugs to the top of my Christmas list!
I don’t share this for pity or attention. I share this now because I want to encourage you to focus on your blessings and the beauties in your life this Christmas (and every other day of the year too). Stop sweating the small stuff. Stop complaining. Be kind to people, because on the surface they may look fine but internally they might not be fine at all.
Stop criticizing your body; we only get one so shine light on what you love about it, stop wasting time and missing out on life because you’re focusing on the things you hate about it. Give thanks for your health and don’t ever take it for granted.
I also share all this to ask for prayer / positive thoughts / happy vibes — for the kids, for Travis, for some relief prior to surgery, for the doctors involved, for a successful surgery and recovery, for all the ‘life stuff’ that’s got to get worked out before and after surgery and for the financial yuck of what’s to come with medical bills. (on top of bills from just having a baby )
A huge thank you to family and friends who’ve poured out love and support. It’s certainly not what I envisioned for my maternity leave (or the rest of my life) but here we are. I have ups and downs and that’s okay. I am trying hard to focus on the positives and recognize that it could be so much worse. This is yet another trial in my life that will give me the opportunity to be better, not bitter.
Love and blessings to all of you
