Kickstart a single mom towards inspiring others after abuse
Domestic abuse destroys families and some people take more than a lifetime to recover while others are determined to rise above the past and any challenges being faced. Abuse is not only physical but also emotional and while people heal from kicks and punches moving on emotionally is the toughest part.
I am a single Mom of 4 kids who left a relationship because of abuse and for the love of my children and I have chosen to rise above and not let the challenges hold me back. I have not had an easy time but I have done the very best I can every step of the way.
I am self-employed and until recently I had a contract with a mobile iPhone and iPad repair business and a vehicle was required for me to keep the contract and thus one of my major sources of income. My late model Toyota Avalon was totaled in an accident June 2016 (insurance did not cover to buy a new car) and because of that, I am now out of work for the most part. I cannot travel to the coroprate customers I was once servicing. Perhaps wrecking my car has been the best thing in my life, it has made me think and consider how best I can approach the challenge we all call life.
I have looked around me, at my family, what I can do, what I cannot do and what I need to do. I am determined to get back on my feet and to get this going I would need to get a newish RV as it would be the ideal vehicle for the work I can do and enjoy. There is a reason why I say “Newish”, custody battles have all kinds of loopholes, conditions, clauses and the like and mine will be no different. Newer model RVs are a little larger than older models and since I have 4 growing children the court will take space into consideration. Newish will also be better equiped, another aspect the courts will look into and of course newish would mean the vehcile is a great deal more reliable and easier and cheaper to maintain.
Once I have a vehicle I can get my contract back and start earning a good income again. The vehicle would provide a home for my family in the short to medium term reducing costs and at least ensuring I can provide adequately for my kids and have some degree of comfort – shelters are far from comfortable and place pressures on young families that no family should have to accept. My family means the world to me and an RV would kill three birds with one stone; employment, transport and accommodation, placing less pressure on me and less of a burden on society.
An RV is the key to me getting back my life. It will be baby steps at first and once I have raised enough money for even just the deposit I can begin to move on and move up and be the best Mom I can be. My ex has tried his best to bring me down and I won’t give up and this campaign is just part of my not giving in and not giving up.
Why crowdfunding and not a bank?
I have approached the more conventional finance houses and sources of finance but first I am self-employed and while I bring home a good income I am considered a high-risk customer. Added to this the ongoing custody battles a level of uncertainty. I fully understand the banks and why they have to lend safely, hence crowdfunding.
What is my goal and how much do I need?
My objective is to get on with life, make something of it that my kids can be proud of and even speak to other women who have been abused and let them know life does get better and teach them how.
My goal from this campaign is to raise $55,000 to put the deposit down on and small car or even $110,000 to pay for an RV outright and kickstart my life.
A few of the options are:
A 5th wheel provides a living room, kithchen, a workspace and enough living quarters and loft for the older children!!!
A Class A has the living space, and a loft for the older children, and a garage workshop to perform iPhone repairs in all on a set of wheels!!!
Any further money raised will be given to a home for abused women to help them.
Your support can help me live a story that can and will inspire millions of other abused mothers around the world.
Please like and share with your networks, and help me spread the word, you never know who this story will touch and help me get to my goal.
