Kilkee community playground
Donation protected
Kilkee community playground, aims to raise €14,000 to carry out necessary repairs and maintenance to the equipment and play surface of our playground. While the playground currently is closed due to covid 19, we regret to tell you that for safety reasons we will not be able to open the gates on June 29th as planned and will remain closed indefinitely, unless these vital funds are raised.
While some of our local friends have been doing some maintenance, such as painting the perimeter boards, getting ready to pour fresh concrete near the main entrance and creating a bright and colourful mural for the kids, this sadly isn't enough to make safe for our children to play. These photos show one of the many hole, tears and shrinkage of the current play surface . Not at all safe for small kids to run and play.
All funds raised will go entirely towards the maintenance and operational costs of the playground.
We have had a great start to our campaign with two generous donations, totalling €7,000, from people who really understand the importance of Kilkee playground to our community.
So I would ask, to past, present and future users of our playground , from Kilkee, our neighbouring communities, Limerick and afar, please donate and save our playground.
Along with Fr. Kenny and Mary Arthur, who have done trojan work over the last number of years, we have an excited and passionate new committee, who have drive and passion to keep our playground looking to the future.
We would gratefully accept any donations to this wonderful cause for the future of our town and the future of your families.
