In this world ravished by war and disease, a lone knight, Atherus, tries to deliver a plea for peace against her tyrannical commander Lord Bellum.

After a thousand years of conflict, humanity has begun to regress backwards to a simpler time, as the bullets ran out, supply chains ran dry and alliances fell to the mud, a new dark age swept the land. A world fraught with lies, mystery and fear.

Survival of the fiercest is the only law.

Kill Truth is a Dark Fantasy pilot and has been a passion project slowly built and developed over two years. It has amassed a crew of over fifteen passionate filmmakers with two strong leading cast and two supporting cast.

My name is Bjorn Weedbrook and I have been a lifetime fan of dark medieval media and have been obsessed with learning about different periods, from the weapons and armaments to the people and cultures. This series has had a lot of research and time in development to make an engaging and realistic world, with its own rich history, unique world and characters.

Kill Truth is a pilot for a much larger and deeper story that we, unfortunately, do not have the funds to support, which is why we have focused our vision and resources on developing the first act as high quality as we can muster.

We follow Atherus who discovers a treaty that threatens to end the war, a plea for peace from the enemy that she had been told were nothing but savages. Before she can weigh her options her tyrannical commander, Lord Bellum, arrives. She must now decide whether to submit the treaty to him or dare to conceal it, the tide of war and history rest in her hands.

This pilot draws significant inspiration from Shakespeare’s Macbeth, weaving heavy themes into a grounded and realistic setting.

Robert Eggers’s work on The Witch, The Northman, and most recently Nosferatu serve as key influences for the tone and style, exemplifying the kind of dark, moody atmosphere that Kill Truth strives to emulate.

Similarly, the gothic, shadowy aesthetics of Dark Souls and Bloodborne, combined with the grimdark tone of Warhammer 40k, heavily shape the world’s design, with a key focus on making the world feel large, desolate and overwhelming.

Tonally and narratively, the project also parallels the Vikings series, with its focus on a deeply character-driven story, that explores the human experience.

For the past 2 years, this project has been self-funded, with all the props and set pieces being donated or hand-crafted as seen in the cover art. With your support, we can not only build higher quality costumes and production design, but your support will help cater for our cast and crew, be put towards location fees so we can film in the beautiful scenery, and ultimately support us in our journey post-production with submission to film festivals where we aim to gain traction that can lead us into further developing the story and world.

We aim to shoot within the first half of this year and have it complete mid to late 2025.
