KillCo Family Fundraiser (Cancer Sucks!)

Greetings, my name is Brian Killavey

November is pancreatic cancer awareness month, something that I became aware of just over one year ago. The reason I became aware of it, was because my father had recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Thankfully because of treatments he is still putting up a goof fight.

This year however my family got more unwelcome news, my mother was diagnosed with early-lung cancer. My mother already had surgery and we are all just thankful it was caught early.

My knee jerk reaction over a year ago when my mother told me about my fathers diagnosis was "What should I do". I felt helpless and angry at the same time and felt there was nothing I could do to help.

But there is something I can do, I can ask for help. The fundraiser I did last year blew the original goal out of the water. I am constantly dumbstruck by how supportive the online whiskey community is. And I am very grateful to have found myself among those who want to decrease world suck. And lets face it, cancer sucks!
