Uniting Hearts to Support Kim Butcher in her journey of living and dying with Parkinson’s Disease. We invite you to join us in rallying behind a remarkable woman, Kim Butcher, as she bravely faces the daunting challenges of Parkinson’s disease. In December 2020, Kim's life took an unexpected turn as she was first diagnosed with Corticobasal Degeneration Syndrome. This rare disease has taken a toll on both her physical and mental well-being. Robbing her of her independence and dignity resulting in extensive injuries and hospital stays. Witnessing her gradual deterioration has been heart-wrenching for her entire family. With a prognosis of 3-5 years, time is of the essence, and we are determined to make every moment count. Kim is a doting, devoted wife to Michael of 39 years he now stands by her side as her pillar of strength. Working 40 hours a week while still providing constant care for Kim must be trying though you would never know; for he does not complain nor ask for anything. Additionally, Michael and Kim are the primary caregivers to Kim’s ailing father. Their unwavering love and resilience are an inspiration to us all. From their love came two beautiful and caring daughters and four adored grandchildren. Kim’s family has been her heart and soul. Her love, her stories, and her legacy will forever live on through their memories and her eternal presence. Along with her admiration for her family and friends came immense pride and passion for her career in nursing. For over 40 years as a nurse at Warren Nursing and Rehab, Kim was dedicated to providing care and comfort for those in need. This disease forced her to end her mission and created yet another void in her life. Now it is our turn to show her she is not alone in this fight. By extending Kim the same support and compassion, as she has provided to others throughout her life, we can help make this burden a little lighter to carry. Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much- Helen Keller We believe that together, we can make a difference! By contributing to our GoFundMe campaign, you can help Kim access vital medical equipment such as a Hoyer lift, motorized wheelchair, an accessible handicapped bathroom, and ramp, and ease the financial stress that comes with fighting this disease. Our goal is to ensure her comfort and quality of life during the time she has left. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference in Kim’s life and allow her family to focus on creating precious moments together. We understand that not everyone may be able to donate, but sharing this campaign with your friends, family, and social networks will help in spreading the word and reaching our goal. In the words of Psalm 23:4, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me." Let us be Kim's rod and staff, offering comfort, hope, and a glimmer of light in her darkest moments. Additionally, mark your calendars for July 30th, 2023, as Charbenay's Wine on the River in downtown Warren, OH, hosts a Benefit Dinner in Kim's honor. Join us for a delightful day filled with fantastic food, wine, uplifting music, and enticing auction items. Tickets may be purchased directly from Charbenay's (https://www.charbenays.com). With gratitude, Sara Wilson & Family
