Kim “Cutie” Boutte Memorial Contributions
My name is Jordan Sullen, former Tulane Student-Athlete, SAAC Committee Member, etc. I am the sole organizer of the recent petition proposing that Tulane implements Kim Boutte in its history and pays homage as necessary. I had the honor and pleasure of seeing Ms. Kim almost daily throughout my collegiate years at Tulane University. As we all mourn her loss in these troubling times, I’d like to set a small goal of $2000 to contribute to memorial alterations and an honorary bronze statue/bust, which shall be planted in a desired location based on Kim’s family. The family has not particularly asked for any donations whatsoever but I do believe this money could benefit in some way or another as we do our part as a community. Kim was undoubtedly like a mother to so many others who’ve contacted me thanking me for launching the petition and so much more. This has also come at a high demand in asking that we do our part and raise money for her memorial services and making sure she is remembered in time. I’d like to thank you all in advance for your contributions and I’ll be sure that the money raised is put into the hands of her daughter, Racquel on behalf of her niece, Monique, whom I’ve been in close contact with.
For those wanting to know when and where Kim’s services will be, please see below:
According to sources close to Kim, the location has changed due to an expected high volume in attendance this weekend. The Mayor has worked closely with the family in order to facilitate the memorial services in a space that welcomes the expected volume. The details are as follows:
Treme' Center
1400 Saint Phillip St.
New Orleans, LA 70116
Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 22nd at 11:30am
Please wear masks if you have any plans of attending either of the services as we want to continue to keep others safe in the midst of this pandemic. Thanks in advance!
