Kim Herndon and her daughters ❤️❤️

Hello! My name is Kim. I was married to Brian for 26.5 yrs when he decided to take his own life.

On May 5, 2023, Brian an army veteran died by suicide. Our 19 yr old daughter found him. I knew it was bad when she came running and screaming. I raced to door and looked myself. Why did I do it maybe because I didn't want daughters to suffer alone. I was really thinking just did.

Like i said Brian was a 20 year Army veteran, was father to our 2 daughters Lizzie (24) and Kelli (19) and also my caregiver . I am a devoted mother.

I had my first brain surgery was when I was 18 years old to remove a seizure disorder, and during that surgery I suffered a mild stroke that left me with partial paralysis on my left side and loss of my left peripheral vision. Then on March 30, 2019 a brain biopsy resulted in me losing the ability to speak, a devastating complication of the surgery.

I have been unable to work due to my medical conditions and I currently live with my daughter Kelli. I have no income coming in. I have pleted all my savings . Any financial assistance would be helpful mo matter how big or little.

Update July 5th- marks two months since Brian's unexpected death. Kim still has yet to receive any benefits from the VA and has no income coming in at this time. Missouri states she can not collect on his social security till she turns 50 which isnt til November of 2023. She's non verbal due to that brain biopsy complication and considerably weaker. She's unable to physically work at this and has been able to in the past 4.5 years. Believe me she would she loved helping to provide for her family. If you can find it in your heart to help her it'd be greatly appreciated. ♥️

Update 8/7/23

Just over 3 months since he passed. I'm still with no income Missouri VA is taking their sweet time. I've not been paid his life ins policy nor any other benefits since mid may. I am beyond thankful to everyone who has donated thus far. I may not even survive the rest of this month bc groceries are so expensive and I've got a procedure next week. I had to reinstate our health ins in July bc it had been canceled after he passed. I had no idea. Now I have to find dental ins for us too. I'm so stressed about finances and trying to cut costs every where I can. I've gotten rid of one huge cost my LH LEASED truck payment, his work truck payment. I got rid of our landline bc I can't talk so why have it. My huge cost now is mortgage payment. I had enough to pay this month's. I pray VA kicks in soon. I wish I could work I would love too.I'm so mad at him for doing this to us. If u can help no amount to small. I appreciate everyone for their love n support.

Alittle over four moths. I haven't received brians life ins yet nor my va benefits. It's getting very stressful bc I have noincome. once I get my income I will forever be grateful

Hi! It's been a little over 6 months since Brian's passed. I am still fighting the VA for my survivors benefits. Six months of no steady income. The VA wants me to ruin my credit b4 they expedite my claim. I refuse to ruin my credit ove r what he did. I finally was able to put my claim in for his Ss survivors benefits bc of my disability.they denied me for SSD bc I don't have enough work credits. So I'm fighting bough with congressional help. I'm am a fighter. I was only able to pay my mortgage to two generous donations by friends husband's work.i can't pay next month's mortgage or bills bcni don't have the money for it. Plus we have person property coming up I'm worried about. I have so many friends from church who have helped over the past several months a a bestest friend in the world. On nov.5th I was choking while we were out she saved my life by doing the heimlich on me.

We are in need of a new car that is more Ada efficient to carry my scooter so those who take to appointments don't hurt themselves., but can't do that without income. My house is in dire need of new floors I had tripped and fallen in bathroom 2x. They are a hazard. My driveway needs to get redone badly it's 72 yrs old and it's just bad. It's difficult once I get outside bc it's all rock til I get to driveway. We could use gift cards to dierbergs, schnucks, Walmart for groceries. My mortgage payments is 1371.95 at bank of America how will I pay next month's bill. If you can help in any way possible big or small it'd be greatly appreciated. Im holding ont yo fsith & hope.
