Kim Hobbs Cancer Fundraiser
Donation protected
Dear friends, we are humbled and so grateful for the donations that we have received through the kindness of your hearts! Thank you! God has blessed us and we pray that he blesses you all as well!
As Kim fights this terrible disease, she and Josh want to help others that are going through similar circumstances. Kim goes to the hospital twice a week to receive both blood and platelet transfusions. Without these she would not be able to survive. It is on their hearts to bring awareness to the fact that there is a severe shortage of blood and platelets in our country. If you would like to donate you can find locations and local drives for The American Red Cross at www.redcrossblood.org. Additionally, if you or someone you know are between the ages of 18-40 please consider joining the bone marrow registry at www.bethematchfoundation.org. When Emory was searching for a bone marrow match for Kim they were having a hard time finding one. Until her sister was verified as a match they were going to use a match from someone in Poland! The process is simple and you could be the life-saving option for someone else needing a bone marrow transplant.
My daughter in law, Kim, has been fighting an uphill battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a very serious and dangerous cancer of the bone marrow. For the last ten months she has endured difficult treatments of various kinds including long hospital stays for intense chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant and months of transfusions. She is facing more chemotherapy and a possible try for a second transplant. There is no cure for the the type of cancer Kim has. The ongoing treatments are being done to try and prolong her life. Kim is the strongest person I have ever known, both emotionally and physically. She never ceases to amaze me with her positive disposition! You can imagine the emotional toll, however, that this has taken on her and her family, my son Josh and their two boys Tyler and Ethan.
The purpose of this fundraiser is threefold.
1. To raise money for their portion of the medical bills which are astronomical.
2. To help supplement the loss of Kim’s income.
3. To show them love and support through this crisis in their lives and ease the immense amount of stress they have on their shoulders.
Please consider sharing this with your friends and family so that we can reach our goal.
With much love,
Debbie Hobbs
