Kim Kreinbring

This fundraiser is to help Kim and Garrett to provide lost income, support medical expenses, and plan for funeral costs when the time comes. As most of you know Kim was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. She previously had pneumonia in 2021 and thought she had a recurrence in May of 2022. After the initial treatment of antibiotics and steroids, her breathing wasn’t improving so she returned the local hospital in early June. The hospital found a mass and fluid on her lungs and she was air lifted to Des Moines 6/8/2022 and admitted to the ICU. After multiple additional tests, the mass was confirmed to be cancerous and had spread to several areas of her body including her bone and liver. She was also diagnosed with COVID while hospitalized.

Following discussions with the oncologist, Kim had a port placed and has started her first round of chemo in hopes of slowing the growth and shrinking the mass. The doctors have advised her not to return to work. She was discharged on Monday 6/20/2022 and is currently home spending time with Garrett and their cats. The long term prognosis is not great, but only God knows the final plan. Kim has worked hard during her life and has always been willing to help others.
