Kim & Mariah need help after an apartment fire
Donation protected
I’m Emily and one of my favorite people in the whole-wide-world is Kim Sullivan. She’s a single mother with a 3 year old daughter, Mariah, who is pictured above and I love very much. Tonight Kim, I and a couple of our friends went out to play volleyball; but it wasn’t our typical Thursday night. Mariah called to say goodnight to her mom, as always, when someone started knocking on Kim’s door. Kim heard it in the background of the FaceTime and told the sitter (her teenage niece) not to answer when the person knocking began to shout that there was a fire and everyone needed to evacuate. Kim immediately grabbed her purse and left volleyball headed right for her daughter. When she arrived she met cops and fire fighters, her daughter had no clothes on sitting with Kims niece. The girls were safe. An apartment 2 doors down had caught fire and the fire had spread throughout the attic. But they were able to get everyone out in time.
Her belongings aren’t salvageable because if they weren’t fire damaged, they were definitely water damaged.
Kims whole life was in that apartment and all 3 years of her daughters. Today, she starts fresh, with nothing - no place of her own, no change of clothes, no furniture, no nothing. She needs help.
Mariah starts school in October, they just went school shopping. She didn’t understand tonight why she had to leave everything behind. It doesn’t make sense when you’re 3. I’m asking for your help because Kim won’t.
Please, if you have anything to give - even if it’s just efforts to find her a new home, message me. Kim & Mariah could use all the love and prayers this world has to offer right now.
