Kim Mitchell Family House Fire

Donation protected
On Wed., Feb. 22, 2017, Kim Mitchell had a fire at her house resulting in fire damage, with much smoke & water damage, too – but praise God, no one was hurt: Kim was at work, Kyle and Tyler were at home and able to rescue Speed and Chester, their two dogs. The fire started in the laundry room and the investigation is ongoing.

This Habitat house which Kim helped remodel (300 volunteer hours), the home in which she, as a single mom, raised her sons for 15 years, and lovingly took care of and improved during that time, has been damaged to the extent that it must be completely gutted all the way down to the frame and rebuilt. Kim salvaged some things (including some family pictures) but most of the family’s possessions were ruined and must be replaced. In the meantime, the family will be in temporary housing for 4-5 months – a long time to be removed from their neighborhood, neighbors, friends and the place they’ve called home for so many years.

Kindhearted Kim would do anything for anybody and many have been the recipients of that love. Now we can return some of that love to her and her family. We are setting up this GoFundMe page as an avenue for doing that, to help with expenses the insurance might not cover. Any amount will be greatly appreciated. And prayers. Lots of prayers during this trying time.
