Kim Ricci fight against metastatic breast cancer

My sister and your friend Kim is one of the strongest, most determined people we know. Despite a lifelong commitment to health and wellness, she was diagnosed with breast cancer at 47 years of age. Over the last two years, she has endured four surgeries, three months of chemotherapy, and 12 radiation treatments with grace, humor, and incredible perseverance.

Despite looking and feeling amazing, the latest scans show the cancer has spread to Kim’s liver and two lymph nodes. It has grown quickly and appears to be doubling every three months.

While at a critical point in her journey, her oncologist is optimistic that the new hormone blockers and targeted drug therapy will slow its progression. To give herself the best possible chance, Kim is also working with a naturopathic oncologist and a Chinese medical practitioner to create a synergistic treatment plan that aims to enhance the effectiveness of the targeted therapies.

While some of the treatment plan is covered by our medical system other components are not. I felt compelled to draw on her amazing community to see if we can pull together to make it happen.

What an amazing gift we could give the person who has given so much of herself in support of others wellbeing! Every donation, big or small, will help her receive the following types of treatments and assessments that will continue into the new year:

Full-Body Hyperthermic Treatments - $2000 (2 @ $1K each): These induce a high fever to weaken and kill unstable cancer cells—a “baking” session Kim jokes about, but which could deliver a powerful knock-out punch.

Hyperthermic Therapy - $7830 (18 @ $435 each): This targeted heat treatment focuses on Kim’s liver to increase oxygenation and drug delivery.

High-Dose Vitamin C IVs - $8430 (3x per week for 3 months @ $235 each): Designed to support her immune system and her body’s ability to endure therapy.

Mistletoe Therapy - $3600 (1x week 3 months @ $300 each): An immune-boosting therapy.

Other supplements - $2400 (6 months @$400/month): to support her immune system.
