Docuseries: Who Killed Kim Simon?
Donation protected
Wboro Lunch Table Productions goal is to make documentaries about Central New York cases and stories. Our first project is a detailed documentary on the unsolved murder of Kim Simon. We will retell the story from the days leading up to Kim's tragic murder, beginning from the horrible events of that fateful night. From there, we'll follow the arrest, conviction and imprisonment of Steven Barnes, up to the current status of this infamous case.
To do a thorough job, we will need the help of the Whitesboro family, businesses and surrounding communities. I've already paid out nearly $10,000, but need your help to cover the remaining costs.
Your donations will go toward:
1. Paying the film crew/editing specialists, producers: ($15-25,000)*.
2. Gaining access to live file footage: ($5,000-10,000)*.
3. Advertising and distribution ($5,000-10,000)*.
4. Travel costs for several out-of-state interviews. ($2000-3,000).
5. Paying actors and others involved with re-enactments ($3,000-5,000).
6. Business start-up costs ($1,000).
7. Obtaining permits and paperwork/copies ($1,000)*.
9. Hidden costs ($TBD).
Some of these have already been paid and others are estimations.
*Numbers are estimations based on research.
NOTE: Our promise to those donating is if we reach the goal of $40,000, we will donate a minimum of $5,000 to either the current reward for information or to a new reward.
Your support, no matter the amount, is greatly appreciated and will help us make a film worthy of this incredibly complex case.
We started filming places of interest and a few re-enactments. We are currently conducting interviews, which figure to run through the summer of 2021. Our goal is to finish filming in the fall and have a finished product ready for broadcast (streaming and local) by early 2022.
This film/series aims to place more focus and light on what actually happened to Kim. There are plenty of rumors that will be clarified and/or debunked in addition to other information we've learned that could help close this case.
The ultimate goal is to tell an in-depth and fact-based story while hopefully bringing much-needed closure to the friends and families of Kim Simon, as well as Steve Barnes.
NOTE: Donations $100 and over will have their name or business in the final credits of the film/series.
