My name is Jimmy Sztanyo and I am raising money for my family. My wife Kim suffered a stroke in revocery from having a volleyball sized tumor removed from her abdomen in July of 2022. It has been 6 months now and we have survived off of good will from her employer and from retirement accounts, and from gifts from others. My wife is transitioning from short term disability over to long term disability and found out on January 24th that her position with her employer is being filled. With her not being able to work, this has created a large shortfall in our ability to pay our bills, even with my two jobs. I'm doing everything I can to support my family and keep our home but time is not working in our favor. My wife was a medical instructor and touched the lives of so many with her work. She is the mother of two wonderful boys and the loving wife to me. She is an incredible woman and I admire her ability to get through most things but she is no longer the bright shinning light of optimism that she used to be. She is now fighting through a neverending brain fog that never seems to get better and suffering from a depression that scares me to death. She is learning how to speak again and she has her good days and her bad days. I'm hopeful though because she still has her sense of humor and she makes our sad days better when she and I are able to laugh at something she did. When those moments happen, it's like looking at a stormy sky and seeing the sun's rays penitrate through the gaps. It's in those moments that I have hope that my wife will, one day, return to me.
We need help paying our bills and keeping our home (small garden home) and our vehicles and utilities. I've seen how these work where sometimes the goal is $100,000 and the person gets $150,000. I am not sure how much we will need in the long term because her disability hasn't been approved. I don't want to ask for too much so I am starting it off with $20,000. This amount will help me stretch my income over the next 6 months and maybe after that, we will be where we need to be to make our lives work again. I appreciate any support that can be given to help.
