Kim van Keule's recovery

I seek to raise funds for Kim van Keule who has been our WA Rally Chaplain for a long time and has more recently been the Rally Chaplain on the Australian Rally Championship circuit.
He has been a councilor, a confident and a strong shoulder for many in our sport. He has helped our sport navigate through its tragedies.
He has married quite a few in motorsport and helped a lot of people that have lost family members or had problems of all sorts.
Kim has struggled with diabetes in recent years and has been in and out of hospital trying to sort out the issues with his right foot that have come from his diabetes.
Unfortunately, despite the best medical help, the problems with his foot have not and are not likely to be resolved. This is not helping with his overall health.
So, a decision has been made and on Tuesday first of September Kim will have an operation to remove his right foot and lower leg. He has accepted the medical decision and is confident that once the operation is over and he has recovered, his full health will return. The total healing process, including rehab and the fitting of a prosthetic lower limb and foot will be around 12 – 15 months.
As a sport we can’t help medically but we can help with his mental health and mental recovery and to that end we can get together and ensure that he gets back out in the field doing his vital work for motorsport as quickly and as practically as he can.
He wont be working for quite some time, although he will get disability support in the interim, but we all know it is not a huge amount. There is a lot of travel involved, not just for events but also visiting members of our sport when they need help or just a confidante. This is very often unseen.
The immediate goals are to raise funds to pay for hand controls for his car and the upgrades needed; an all-terrain gopher and suitable trailer to attend at events, and some funding to help through the next year until he gets back to some sort of employment.
That is why we are setting up a go fund me page.
The trustees for any funds raised will be Terry Mann and Ross Tapper.
