Kim VanVleet Anderson Hurricane Ian
Donation protected
Hello my name is Lisa Iverson. Myself and a group of lifelong friends are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Kim VanVleet Anderson. We are raising money for Kim who lost her home and all her possessions in Hurricane Ian. There was over 5 feet of water inside her home. By the time she was able to even get to look at the damage of her place, mold had already taken over the entire inside of her home and her belongings. Her mobile home has been deemed unlivable. The mobile home park where her home is located has lost the infrastructure which means nobody can live there at this time and the future of the mobile home park is uncertain. Kim just found out that all of the mobile homes in her park need to be removed.
Kim sold her home in Isanti, MN 3 years after losing her husband, Lennie. It was their dream to spend their retirement years living in Fort Myers Beach Florida together but unfortunately God had other plans for Lennie. They loved that area and spent many weeks there over their 18 years together. See the picture below where Kim is sitting on a bench she had dedicated to Lennie in Fort Myers Beach Time Square. Obviously, the bench is gone and Time Square has been destroyed as well. She then moved in with one of her daughters while she was looking for her forever home in Fort Myers, Florida. She finally found a place this past year and had made some improvements on it with a new roof, windows, siding, AC and furniture just a few weeks before the hurricane hit. She wasn’t retired yet but was working remotely in Florida from her new home in Fort Myers. She was so excited to be living in her new “happy place” that her and Lennie had always dreamed of.
Kim has been informed that her “Hurricane Insurance Coverage” will only cover a very small amount. Because her new roof held up, they stated all of the damage was from the over 5 feet of water in her home which destroyed everything, and they told her that her policy did not cover that. The only help she will be getting is a lower interest rate loan from the SBA to completely start over. Please donate anything you can to help Kim find a new place to live. All of the money raised will go towards her finding a new home and starting over.
Whatever you can spare to help Kim, even if it’s just a share to help this campaign gain more exposure, it would be immensely appreciated in helping Kim get back on her feet.
