Kim's Son's Bone Marrow Transplant
Donation protected
Kim's 19 year old son, Darius, has been fighting Aplastic Anemia since 2012 and will start the process for receiving a bone marrow transplant in February in Colorado.
Here are Kim's words on her son and his condition:
Darius was first diagnosed 2 days after Thanksgiving in 2012 with Very Severe Aplastic Anemia – complete bone marrow failure. He’s had two rounds of ATG (immunosuppression therapy) that both failed. He enjoys making digital art and playing online role playing games. He’s a student at CNM (not this semester, though) studying Computer Information Systems – Digital Media. He likes royal blue, Japanese anime, and foxes. He’ll be going to Colorado in mid-February for his transplant and my father will be accompanying him for the months that he’ll be there for treatment and recovery.
Since Kim and her other son, Orenda, have to stay in New Mexico while Darius is treated, it would be great if we could support not only some medical expenses but also provide Kim and Orenda support to visit Darius as much as possible. The bone marrow transplant has a 75% chance of working and will be very hard on Darius. Having the means to travel to Darius will hopefully give his family some peace of mind as he goes through the next couple of months.
Please share and thank you for any support you can give.
