Please donate to help Kimber-Leigh beat cancer! The past few months have been difficult as our dear friend, sister, aunt, daughter, Kimmy was diagnosed with cancer for the 3rd time.
Back in November Kimmy went for her 3 year check up and got some bad news. The cancer is back and it's in her lungs this time. A pathology test and a DNA test has been done to figure out what type of cancer she has for sure. We just got the results back and it is Clear Cell Sarcoma. On Tuesday February 3rd Kimmy will be admitted to the Pasqua hospital for a minimum of 5 days where she will be on 3 different kinds of chemo as well as a bunch of other drugs. She will do 5 days of continuous chemotherapy and then 4 weeks off. This will repeat 4-6 times. The doctors have given a 50% chance of this shrinking the lesions in her lungs. She has 6 lesions - 3 in each lung. Surgery is not an option at this point because she had too many lesions. We are all hopeful that she will be in the 50% that it's effective on and after treatment she can hopefully undergo surgery to remove the remainder.
This is round 3 for Kimber-Leigh. The last battle took her leg and she recovered from that like a true champion. This battle will be a lot tougher on her and everyone that knows and loves her. We all know that Kimmy is a strong and powerful girl and is going to fight this brutal disease until she is rid of it for good.
Kimmy has an amazing amount of support behind her. We are asking today that you pitch in to help with the financial burden. We all want Kimmy to be able to focus on this fight and to not have to worry about financial issues that are sure to come up.
