Kimberley Conquers Cancer

Donation protected
We know that Cancer doesn’t discriminate - but last week I found out my longtime friend and client, @Kimberley O’Connor was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was absolutely floored. You will all know Kimberley from sessions, and the extended O’Connor family (Carly, Sheree, Blake and Mark) but what many of you won’t know is that she is 27 years old. Engaged to marry @Dylan and would actually already be Mrs. Nigro if not for COVID-19 forcing her to postpone the wedding. With the wedding rescheduled for January 2021, Kimberley will now be in the middle of intensive Chemo. It goes without saying that this is a sh!@ hand to be dealt but she has the fortune of a great family, loving partner and being young and otherwise fit and healthy. Which is lucky, because Cancer not only has an emotional and physical impact, it has a financial impact too!

And so, to give back to my friends and our fellow Challengers the O’Connor’s, I have started this fundraiser. I have kick started the donations with a contribution of $1,500 as a contribution from our current Inspirefit Challenge.

When Kimberley broke the news to her family, she got sick of everyone crying and threatened to order 10 burpees for the next person that cried! And so, to give you all a carrot for donating, every $1 donated by this group, will equal a single Burpee (yes, chest to floor).

We will be holding a Bootcamp Fundraiser on Dec 12th at 630pm at Parc Menai, with all session money and on the day donations to go to Kimberleys Fund. Please contact me on Facebook for more details.

At the end of the challenge, Dec 19th we will hold an end of challenge burpee event and @Jen Craven and I will complete every burpee between us. Depending how much money we raise, we might have to agree on a system where we can sub you guys in to give us a break ;)

Thanks everyone - We hope this goes a small way into making this time for Kimberley, Dylan and their families that little bit more bearable.
